Ronald Kompier and Jan Schultz are duo presidents of Entrepreneurs Association Bio Science Park.
‘The Leiden Bio Science Park has become one of the most important economic engines in our region. In the coming years, we see plenty of opportunities for further growth, both through the arrival of new companies and the expansion of existing businesses. This not only creates new opportunities, but also requires a greater influx of qualified employees. Finding these talents, however, is increasingly a challenge’.
‘We must ensure that graduates can continue to use their knowledge and expertise in the region so that it is not lost to other cities or countries. Retaining these talents is of great importance for the further growth and development of the Bio Science Park and the Leiden region as a whole.

“It is crucial that we strengthen the connection to the entire Leiden region so that people can live in close proximity to their work, contributing to a better quality of life for everyone.
‘At the same time, the region as a whole benefits from the development of the Bio Science Park. The medicines of the future are being developed here, and workers in the park actively contribute to the local economy through their spending in the city and region. Moreover, the many suppliers and partners at the park are an important link in the region’s economic cycle. The growth of the Bio Science Park thus has a clear positive effect on the broader economic dynamics of our region.
‘Strong cooperation between companies, knowledge institutions and local governments is therefore more than self-evident. Only by acting together can we utilize the full potential of the Bio Science Park while contributing to the economic prosperity of the Leiden region.
