The government is making € 2.5 billion available for the accessibility of new housing. Of this, the Municipality of Leiden will receive an allocation of over € 146 million and the Municipality of Katwijk of almost € 14 million for, among other things, the accessibility of new housing in the city and region.
Katwijk will receive the funds for the development around the Eli Lilly and Company company and homes in the area. With this first impulse, the grand plans in the area can be further developed.

Projects in Leiden will receive a contribution of over €146 million. They are:
- € 105,072,000 as an investment in Leiden Central Hub;
- € 7,081,031 for the Wernink housing development in the Hoge Mors and
- € 34,108,600 for the development of the Leiden – Utrecht railroad, including Hazerswoude station.
These investments give not only Leiden, the region and South Holland, but all of the Netherlands perspective on a better future!
